Chainring teeth have been specifically redesigned (patented technology) to work in all conditions with narrower chains that inherently have less space to accommodate mud. How to mount our Oval chainring to 8 bolt interface crank
Remove the crank from the bike. Unscrew all 8 torx t-20 bolts from the crank and remove the old chainring. Clean the crank mounting splines with a cloth and put small amount of grease on them. Position the chainring in place - note, there is only one way to fit this chainring to Sram crank because mounting spline pattern is not fully symmetrical. Close all original 8 bolts to about 4Nm using T-20 torx key.
Please use SRAM’s recommendations for the correct chain length calculation. For this purpose, oval chainring tooth count = round chainring tooth count. As an example, a 38t oval chainring is equivalent to a 38t round chainring.
Oval (elliptical) chainring does not compromise the work of clutch mechanism in rear derailleur.
