The Original absoluteBLACK Premium direct mount 1X Oval chainrings are specifically designed for Sram T-Type transmission drivetrain cranks. Fits cranks with 8-bolt mounting pattern. Chainring teeth have been specifically redesigned to work in all conditions with narrower chains that inherently have less space to accommodate mud. It is the most Premium oval chainring on the market with scientifically proven performance gains. Chainring offset is 3mm (same as stock part).
" The oval rings continue to impress me and have made a genuine difference to my riding particularly as suffer from osteoarthritis in both knees. There does not seem to be as much stress on my knees and they don't ache when I have completed my rides. I am super impressed!"
" I had my AB chainring installed last week and after few hours of pedaling, boom, it hit me. This chainring made a big difference. My knees didn’t hurt, I felt faster on flats and uphill. "
" I’ll never go back to round. Super smooth, eased my knee pain, and has helped my climbs on technical ascents ten fold."
" Initially, reluctant. However, after riding my 29er I was very impressed with the power distribution and no knee pain. AB undoubtable got it nailed. You won't even know your are riding an OVAL after 15 minutes time."
" Super pleased with the overall look and performance of the chainring. I can 100% say that it does improve my pedaling while climbing and getting through rough uphill stuff. Each pedal stroke is now more fluid and cadence is better on those longer climbs."

SRAM chainring mounted bash guard compatibility
Our chainrings are not compatible with SRAM’s chainring mounted bash guards, this is due to the fact that any impact sustained by such bash guard would be transferred directly onto the chaining, potentially damaging the chainring and the bash guard. Using an ISCG05 mount-type bash guard, like our Oval Bash Guide, is a much better and much safer solution.
Advantages of our special Direct mount narrow wide chainrings:
*Finest design to provide excellent weight to strength ratio
*One of a kind special oval shape (Patent Pending)
*Greatly improves traction and climbing abilities
*Unique Patent Pending alternate wide and narrow teeth profiles to keep your chain in place for minimum 12 months!
*Special 3D teeth machining for ultimate mud relief decrease wear and noise dramatically
*Superb quality and great look.
*You will ride faster using ovals. If you keep using round ring then others will get quicker.
*You will not "feel" the oval shape at all
*Reduces stress on knees
*We mastered our oval chainrings to perfection, so you can get best possible advantage from the oval/elliptical shape.
How to mount our Oval chainring to 8 bolt interface crank
Remove the crank from the bike. Unscrew all 8 torx t-20 bolts from the crank and remove the old chainring. Clean the crank mounting splines with a cloth and put small amount of grease on them. Position the chainring in place - note, there is only one way to fit this chainring to Sram crank because mounting spline pattern is not fully symmetrical. Close all original 8 bolts to about 4Nm using T-20 torx key.
Please use SRAM’s recommendations for the correct chain length calculation. For this purpose, oval chainring tooth count = round chainring tooth count. As an example, a 32t oval chainring is equivalent to a 32t round chainring.
For the 28t absoluteBLACK oval, please use the 30t chainring size for chain length calculation, then take out 2 chain links.
Oval (elliptical) chainring does not compromise the work of clutch mechanism in rear derailleur. Riding out of saddle on the uphill will become more pleasant.
The most advanced, Patent Pending alternate wide and narrow teeth profile currently produced, guarantee minimum 12 months of excellent chain retention capabilities! We mean it. Always use a new chain with a new chainring.
